First ski-ish

We spent Brian's birthday weekend in Kirkwood with Chris Robinson (at his house) and the Fordon Family (Hudson loved 'baby Cooper', 6 months old). It was beautiful weather, but not great skiing. No problem, as we love the beauty of the Robinson's house where we stay, and it was a fun opportunity to play in the snow with Hudson. We borrowed some friends tie-on skis for Hudson to test out the waters. The conditions were awkward, slushy, too steep, but the little guy enjoyed the experience which was our only goal.

Juliet and Hudson took a nice sunny and warm walk to the base of the mountain to watch the skiers and get Hudson psyched up for the slopes.
This video was to show Brian our little plan worked : )

After Brian returned from the slopes, it was time for the first ski experience!

Lots of laughing - we were happy he was so comfy in the snow.

Slushy sledding! You can also see the beauty of our surroundings just outside the house.

Snacks!

Clearly Hudson can have just as much fun on an indoor playground.

Until next time!

School BFFs

Hudson's best friend at school is Miles. It's wonderful because I'm very good friends with Miles' mom (we were friendly at work while pregnant and became super close while on maternity leave together, have outside friends in common, etc). Since they started 'school' together over a year ago, we have been told by all the teachers how close the boys really were - interacting with eachother in ways most kids at 9 months old don't do, choosing to do activities together, etc. We'd witness their friendship on our own (lots of hugs and kisses), but so much of it was through the stories at school. Now that the boys are older, we've seen how they truly have a bond.

Hudson's previous classroom had a party for the kids turning 2 who were moving on to the next classroom. It was a great party and fun for Hudson since he'd been in the next room for just 2 weeks, so it was good to see his old crew again, including Miles. The boys were like to old friends at a 10 year reunion, it was hilarious!

Cute signage on the door to the party

The Party

Miles is the comedian and Hudson loves it
(Jack is on Hudson's other side, he makes up the 3rd musketeer)

Valentine's Day Funny

On Feb. 14th, Hudson's school day was all Valentine's stuff and he made us a Valentine. The whole car ride home he kept pointing to it saying 'Valentine', etc. He could point to it and say that it was a 'heart', that he made a 'hand print', super cool to see his understanding of it.

So I thought I should capture it on video...of course, he wasn't saying anything I wanted, and at one point I found myself mouthing to him from behind the camera 'valentine' as if he's old enough to understand that and say it aloud...well, you'll see - enjoy!

Makes me laugh every time.

I did manage to capture what I wanted as he was opening his Valentine card from Gma and Gpa. He loved the act of opening it and taking it out of the envelope, we did that a bunch.

Prep Chef Hudson

Hudson's newest favorite item is his play cutting set. It's basically a bunch of wooden 'fruit' sliced up and stuck back together with velcro, then he can 'cut' the pieces up with the play knife. He's so into and I find it so interesting how he seems to know exactly how to hold all the parts and use them - toddlers are such mimics. It's motivated me to purchase a taller stepstool so he can get into the action at the real kitchen counters.
