Holidays 2011

The holiday season this year was very fun as Hudson was so much more aware of things and able to 'participate.' His school did a great job of teaching the kids about various celebrations, including Hanukkah and Christmas, so his spirit was up early. We had tons of fun lighting the menorah, singing, and getting used to opening presents. Come Christmastime, Hudson was loving Frosty, and imitating Santa's 'ho ho ho.' We had fun attending holiday parties in the bay area, and then headed off to MI for Xmas (and then to Chicago for NYE time). The weather was very mild this year, so we didn't get to take advantage of snow much, but we all had a blast as usual getting cozy at the Roth household and indulging in the holiday with family. Thanks for taking so many photos, Aunt Melissa!

Counting and eating

Hudson suddenly surprised into being able to count to 10 sometime in early November...this is not the best representation - good luck with that full mouth - but we keep forgetting to document this milestone!

Just the 2 of us

Brian is very savvy sometimes, and when he saw a work opportunity in Deer Valley, at the Stein Eriksen Lodge, he jumped on it. Just 5 days after thanksgiving, Gma and Gpa came up north from LA to stay with Hudson while we went away for our first trip without the little guy in our lives. Of course, it was hard to say goodbye (amazing what you can work your brain into with emotions), but once we boarded that plane, it was well worth it. I think I took at least 3 bubble baths, drank lots of peppermint liquor spiked hot chocolates, read an entire book, and even skied - all on a long weekend trip!

Back home, Gma, Gpa, and Hudson had their own fun adventures - at the park, visiting farm animals, 'gardening', and even visiting our neighbor's chickens. It's clear Hudson had a blast! What a special gift to receive from Brian's parents, and what fun memories for everyone! So glad there are pictures of all their fun adventures!
